My story

Hello everyone, I'm Marcelo, the art director of Mariscotti Art and over the next few weeks I'll be sharing a little bit of my personal journey with the company and Osvaldo Mariscotti. So, I guess a good place to start would be from the beginning. I grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina and at the age of 17 I decided to go study abroad to the US. I ended up at Pace University, which for those of you who are not familiar with it, is a university based in Downtown Manhattan in New York. I majored in Mathematics and Computer Science, and was lucky enough to get to complete my last semester in London, UK. I studied at the European Business School, which is part of Regents University. At the time I had a lot of doubts about what to do after graduating from college. I had sort of convinced myself that Math was the thing for me and so it just made sense to stay in school for a bit longer and complete a Masters in Applied Mathematics. All this was pretty much decided until I arrived in London. As it turned out, those months I spent in Europe made me completely rethink what I really wanted to do.

It's June 2012 and I'm back in New York. Around that time and out of the blue I got an email from an old friend from back in Argentina. She asked me what I had been up to and whether I was working full time. She said her uncle was looking for someone to help him out with his website and asked if I could help. Next thing I know is I'm at a coffee shop in Midtown Manhattan waiting to meet my friend's uncle. I turn my head and see someone in a bright green t-shirt walking towards me. This man was bald, tanned, and surprisingly fit for someone that looked to be in his late 50s. He stopped right in front of me and said he was indeed my friend's uncle. He sat down, we chatted for what seemed like five minutes, after which he got the check and took off. The details of the conversation escape me; however, one thing was certain, I was now employed.
