REAL ABSTRACTION

Mariscotti Art is pleased to present its Real Abstraction campaign. Real Abstraction places virtual representations of a wide selection of Mariscotti's sculptures in public spaces around the city of London. The sculptures have been "installed" in popular locations such as Regent's Park, Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament. Coordinates for existing sculptures will be published on a weekly basis at mariscottiart.com. Also, the campaign is set to release a free mobile phone app later this year that will give live coordinates of the locations where the sculptures can be found as well as allow visitors to post photos of themselves and their friends in front of the works.

Painter and sculptor Osvaldo Mariscotti started the Real Abstraction campaign inspired by his belief that art should be available to everyone and should form an integral part of every person's life. In Mariscotti's words, "good art should challenge our aesthetic perception but it should, at the same time, be welcoming and inclusive." Art is an inexhaustible resource that helps us understand ever more complex levels of expression and, as such, it is a resource that should be easily available to every person, not just confined within the walls of a museum. Aided by today's technology, Mariscotti is seeking to achieve just that by embedding his work in the fabric of daily life to create ever more meaningful experiences and connections between the viewer and the work of art.
